Effective clinical leadership and engagement are increasingly being recognised as important contributors to the delivery of high standards of clinical care and organisational performance. Leaders ask themselves "where are we going" whereas managers tend to ask "how do we get there". The five domains of the medical and business leadership framework include:

Shared leadership is becoming more and more prevalent in organisations, the days of the heroic leader are perhaps becoming history.
